Dr. Tino Hutschenreuther will answer your questions on our research in Smart distributed measurement and test systems and the related core topics Analysis of distributed IoT systems, Embedded AI and Real-time data processing and communications, on the lead applications Adaptive edge AI systems for industrial application and IoT systems for cooperative environmental monitoring as well as on the range of services for the development of embedded systems.
System Design department
Our system design team is internationally positioned and consists of specialists for:
- PCB circuit design
- PCB layout
- Microcontroller development (C)
- Embedded applications/middleware software (C/C++)
- real-time Linux and TSN
- wireless sensor networks
- communications systems
- distributed energy-efficient hardware/software systems
- optimisation of AI algorithms for small embedded systems
Most of our research staff have academic degrees in electrical engineering, computer science and related fields.
Each year, we design several customised embedded systems in various application fields in research projects or directly for our customers.
We supervise up to 10 students per year in internships, bachelor and master theses at our location in Ilmenau. In addition, we provide staff for the SME Digital Team at IMMS.
We support you with research and development in the following areas

”The jointly developed system architecture and implementation was developed into a proof-of-concept measurement solution, which will now be further tested in various scenarios in collaboration with our customers. In our solution-oriented collaboration with IMMS, we were able to benefit in particular from the expertise of IMMS employees in sensor and embedded systems technology.“

“Throughout the entire duration of the project, I have always perceived IMMS as a competent, innovative and solution-orientated partner that dealt very flexibly and pragmatically with the multiple challenges of using modern measurement technology in a topographically and climatically demanding environment. Ultimately, these three practical examples illustrate the successful transfer of scientific endeavour to everyday use.”
