SME Digital team at IMMS
IMMS is involved in the “SME Digital Centre Ilmenau” as “Model Factory Smart Sensor Systems”. There, mechatronics engineers, electrical engineers and computer scientists from IMMS support small and medium-sized enterprises in the gradual introduction of digitalisation solutions. They show, for example, how machines, plants and processes can be optimised by:
- wirelessly networked sensor technology for retrofitting machines and plants
- innovative diagnosis, maintenance and service concepts
- universal electronics platforms for Industry 4.0 components
- open source software and
- AI-based data processing.
For this, we complete around three to four demonstrators for SMEs every year or install the demonstration solution on site in the companies.
This work is the basis for the almost 60 SME digital events of IMMS every year, such as regulars' tables, workshops, information talks and lecture events, to which small and medium-sized enterprises are introduced to digitalisation solutions. They are organised by a media economist / a media and communication scientist in our SME Digital Team, who also develop corresponding information material, publications and explanatory videos.
Our team works in close proximity to the SME Digital Centre Ilmenau head office at our IMMS head quarters on the Ilmenau TU campus.
