Lock-in imager for time-resolved fluorescence imaging with europium. We have developed a novel lock-in imager chip for time-resolved fluorescence imaging and integrated it into a sample application for quantitative readout of strip tests. The chip enables applications in in-vitro diagnostics for which sample concentrations need to be rapidly detected in a mobile device.
Machine learning for automated modelling in chip design. For highly complex and safe integrated sensor systems, we have automated the design and test with AI algorithms and machine learning. We have developed methods to automatically augment models with additional properties and thus improve the validity of system-level simulations. Thanks to machine learning and neural networks, the manual modelling effort is significantly reduced.
„Trash or Treasure“ – artificially IntelligEnt Layout Processing. Together with Ilmenau TU, we have developed an AI-based anomaly detection method that can be used to automatically detect non-proven and potentially faulty locations in layouts. Through a flexible data representation, both PCB and ASIC layout data can be processed with it. We have developed a plugin for the free design tool KiCad and made it available on GitHub.
Testing in the fast lane – Machine Learning accelerates the analysis of measurement data for ASICs several times faster. For test data analyses outside the specification, we have developed a new method based on ML algorithms with the Ilmenau TU and evaluated it in a case study with an industrial test data set for a chip from Melexis GmbH. In that case, the time required was 10 to 30 times less compared to the expert with the same informative value.
Scalable ultrasonic and volume flow sensor platform to optimise energy efficiency. To energy-efficiently use compressed air for industrial processes, we, SONOTEC and Postberg have developed an automatable sensor solution for leakage detection and assessment. It can be used to retrofit compressed air systems and to simplify repairs and maintenance. The product will be launched on the market by SONOTEC in 2022.
Nanometre-precise lifting modules for high-precision drives. New manufacturing processes are supposed to work ever more precisely in ever larger vertical positioning ranges to produce ever smaller structures. We have further developed lifting modules to optimise our drive system for use in e.g. semiconductor manufacturing thanks to a 75% lower heat input. Objects can now be positioned freely in space (⌀ 100 mm x 10 mm height) with nanometre precision and active control.
