Wherever possible, we draw in regionally available technology into our research and thus contribute to the networking of companies so that small and medium-sized enterprises, in particular, can fully exploit their innovation potential. In addition, we initiate and help shape regional and supraregional as well as cross-sectoral clusters and networks. We are particularly involved in application-oriented working groups and scientific committees. Our regular workshops promote the transfer of know-how to network partners and industry.

OptoNet – the central German Photonics Cluster
OptoNet e. V. represents the interests of players from industry, research and education who are active in the field of photonics. They all pursue the common goal of strengthening the internationally successful high-tech location in the heart of Germany and to contribute to a better future with light-related technologies.

Silicon Saxony e.V.
Silicon Saxony e. V. is one of the largest microelectronics and IT clusters in Germany and Europe. The association connects manufacturers, suppliers, service providers, colleges/universities, research institutes, public institutions and industry-relevant start-ups. We contribute to the IC Design, Artificial Intelligence and Smart Systems & Internet of Things working groups.

SME Digital Centre Ilmenau
The SME Digital Centre Ilmenau provides hands-on digitalisation with practical demonstration and implementation projects. It supports regional companies in the implementation of solutions for concrete problems in the companies. As “Model Factory Smart Sensor Systems”, we support companies in gradually introducing AI-based solutions and Industry 4.0 technology.
