Abstract: The work describes a sensor system to register traf-fic-related data as the number, type and speed of the vehicles on a “tactile road”. Besides a strong focus on networked intelligent embedded systems for sensor data acquisition and its collection, the antenna configuration plays a crucial role. These research issues are described, results are explained and illustrated.
