ASIC Development: IC Design Engineer Optoelectronics

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design of analog integrated circuits and systems in CMOS and BiCMOS processes for optoelectronic sensors and data communication applications
  • IC layout design and verification
  • Collaboration in industrial IC design projects and publicy funded collaborative research projects on circuit design and design methodology

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering (microelectronics, microsystems technology) or a related field
  • Experience in design, layout and verification of analog integrated circuits, in particular amplifier circuits (opamps, transimpedance amplifiers)
  • Self-motivated, creative problem solver
  • Works well both in a team and individually
  • Good communication skills in German and English

Desired Skills:

  • Professional ASIC design experience in the semiconductor industry
  • Familiar with the Cadence Custom IC design environment, in particular Version 6.1
  • Familiar with front-end circuit design for optoelectronic sensors, in particular for high-speed optical data receivers
  • Experience with behavioral circuit modeling and system-level simulation using analog/mixed-signal modeling languages (e.g. Verilog-A/AMS, VHDL-AMS) and simulation tools (e.g. AMS Designer, MATLAB)
  • Experience in project management
  • Successful participation in publicly funded collaborative research projects, ideally as project or subproject leader
